About Metro Detroit Locksmith
A local locksmith that does things the right way.
- 24/7 emergency service
- Upfront quote before work
- Fully mobile — we come to you
- ID verified every job
Local, honest and available around the clock
Metro Detroit Locksmith is a mobile locksmith serving the communities of Oakland County and Macomb County, Michigan. We help homeowners, renters, drivers and businesses with lockouts, car keys, rekeying, lock installation and commercial security, 24 hours a day.
We started this business because too many people in Metro Detroit have been burned by "locksmith" ads that are really out-of-state call centers: a low price on the phone, a much higher bill at the door, and a damaged lock to show for it. We think you deserve better.
Our promise
- Upfront quotes. You know the price before we start, and the price we quote is the price you pay.
- ID verification. We confirm ownership or residence before every lockout — it protects you.
- Damage-free first. We use professional non-destructive methods whenever possible.
- Quality hardware. We install locks we would put on our own doors.
- Itemized invoices. Every job ends with a clear receipt.
How to spot a trustworthy locksmith
Whoever you call, these checks will protect you:
- Ask for the business's full name and a total price estimate on the phone.
- Be cautious of very low advertised prices like "$19 service call."
- Expect the locksmith to ask for your ID before opening anything.
- Expect a marked vehicle, a business card and an itemized invoice.
- Be wary if a locksmith immediately insists on drilling a standard lock.
